Biography

Laís Wendel Abramo is a sociologist with a master's and PhD in sociology from the Department of Social Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages, and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (USP). She is a specialist in issues related to inequality, social policies, and the world of work. Abramo served as the Executive Coordinator of the Technical Work Group for the Transition Team of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (November-December 2022), Director of the Social Development Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) (2015-2019), and Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) office in Brazil (2005-2015).
