Lawyer and 2003 Fellow of the NDI (National Democratic Institute) in the democracy strengthening program. She has extensive experience in the public sector, particularly in areas related to royalties, territorial and environmental development. She has served as an Advisor to the Ministry of Environment; Housing and Territorial Development, as well as to the Vice Ministry of Interior of Colombia, and was a member of the structuring project for the General System of Royalties at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia. Her professional work focuses on the development of public policies, legislative and regulatory analysis, and monitoring, among other areas.
