Video |

27 May 2016

In this interview, Rachel Kyte, Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) and Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All, says that we have to be much more efficient in the use of energy, in such a way that the rising middle class can meet their needs with much less energy than before.

Rachel Kyte also highlighted that ECLAC is part of a partnership, along with SE4All and other regional organizations, aimed at supporting initiatives to secure access to affordable, clean energy for everyone in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This video was recorded at the thirty-sixth session of ECLAC, held in Mexico City from May 23-27, 2016. It takes part of a series of interviews with personalities attending that event, where the regional organization presented the document Horizons 2030: Equality at the center of sustainable development that proposes an analytical framework for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean.
