Rachel Kyte is Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) and Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All.
She was formerly World Bank Group Vice President and Special Envoy for Climate Change, supervising work on climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate financing and disaster risk and resilience in all the World Bank Group’s institutions, including the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
Rachel Kyte was previously World Bank Vice President for Sustainable Development and was the IFC Vice President for Business Advisory Services. She also formed part of the IFC management team.
She has received numerous awards for leadership, climate action and sustainable development. She is a Professor of Practice in Sustainable Development at Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Fletcher and a bachelor’s degree in History and Politics from the University of London.
