Biography

Eduardo Bitrán Colodro is a Chilean industrial civil engineer and currently Executive Vice-President of the Chilean Production Development Corporation (CORFO).

He was formerly general manager of CORFO and was involved in the management of Fundación Chile. He also served as Minister of Public Works (2006-2008) and President of the National Innovation Council (CNIC) in 2008-2010. His wealth of policy experience in the areas of innovation, regulation, finance and private infrastructure investment includes consultancy for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

In the academic sphere, he has taught at the Engineering Faculty of Adolfo Ibáñez University. He qualified as an industrial civil engineer at the University of Chile and holds a doctorate in Economics from the University of Boston.
