Biography

Inge Kaul is a German researcher and has been an Adjunct Professor at Hertie School of Governance in Berlin (Germany) since 2007.

She is an external adviser to a number of multilateral agencies and other organizations on international cooperation financing, public-private partnerships, global governance and global issue diplomacy.

She formerly held a number of posts with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), having been the Director of the Office of Development Studies (1995-2005), Director of the Human Development Report Office (1989-1994), a Senior Evaluation Officer and Policy Analyst (1986-1988) and Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Afghanistan and Laos (1981-1985).

She has been a member of numerous boards, panels and commissions, such as the Advisory Group on Technical Assistance and Cooperation of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Expert Group on Financing International Cooperation.

She has published a great many books and articles, including The New Public Finance: Responding to Global Challenges (2006) and Global Public Goods: International Cooperation in the 21st Century (1999). She holds a doctorate in Social Sciences from Konstanz University, Germany.
